About

Hello! I am Yaa Donkor, an 11th grader at Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics. My extracurricular activities include attending college prep classes at Sponsors for Educational Opportunity and engaging in research at John Jay College for Criminal Justice. In my free time, I like to further my skills in foreign language and learn more about neuroscience and psychology.

What I’m Raising Money For

This summer, I will be travelling abroad to Japan through a two-week program in which I will be attending high school and interacting with the culture of Hokkaido. Through this experience, I hope to diversify my thinking and broaden my horizons while growing as an effective communicator by overcoming the Japanese-English language barrier. Upon my return, I hope to use the skills I earned through this experience to enhance my community by offering an new, refreshing perspective.
