About
My name is Malachi Parsons and I'm a junior at Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice. I have a have a 94 GPA and consistently push myself to be involved in my school community and extracurricular activities. I'm an enthusiastic and open-minded learner eager to develop my knowledge through my experiences. For example, I'm involved in rigorous academic programs, my church, and photography and filmmaking clubs. All of these things I have done is in an effort to reach my goals and prepare myself for college. With this in mind, I want to participate in another transformative opportunity: a summer and year-long college prep program.
What I’m Raising Money For
In this program, students all over the city learn how to think critically, communicate effectively, and build relationships. There will be multiple seminars and group discussions to create a strong support system between professors and students. Participants will discuss controversial topics like social justice and engage in debates in order to widen their perspectives. Students will live on a college campus and experience first hand some of the struggles of being a college student.
Why You Should Give
Given the present political climate, it is necessary to be equipped with the proper knowledge in order to in act change. Your contribution will not only assist me in becoming more aware of important issues but give me the experience of being on a college campus. It would be greatly appreciated if you would give a donation or spread the word to others so I can be apart of this transformative experience.

I had the privilege of being Malachi's teacher. He contributed so much to our class and I know he will bring the same insight and compassion to all of his experiences outside of school. Young people like Malachi give me hope for our future!
