About
My name is Shemar Williamson, and I am a current junior at Brooklyn College Academy. I am an aspiring Computer Engineer, attempting to advance the S.T.E.M. field for young minorities like myself. I am also an active member of a rigrous four year college prep program, known as Sponsors For Educational Opportunity (SEO), developing my skills as a student to be effectively prepared for college.
What I’m Raising Money For
In order to advance my interests and understanding of Computer Engineering, I am raising money to expand my academic opportunities by taking a college level course at a prestigious university. With this opportunity, I will be given the chance to be exposed to much diversity in the S.T.E.M field. This summer, I will attend a three week course in which I will gain an extensive experience of the College life and much knowledge benefical for the basics of engineering.
Why You Should Give
In today's society, minorities are often under represented as leaders in business and the sciences. Therefore, the exposure to this rigrous course will bring more minorities to greater heights in the S.T.E.M. field. I believe an increase of diversity in this particular field, will lead to greater advancements for society as a whole.
