About
My name is Sophia Rodriguez and I'm a current junior at Academy of American Studies. My education is the most important thing to me, so since freshman year I have been in a rigorous 8-year program, SEO Scholars, that prepares high school students to get into and through college. Along with my passion for education, I have always been interested in the Earth and taking care of our home. Therefore, I am currently working hard to attend a university that will have the resources I need to pursue my passions. With SEO's help, I have been put on the right path to have a successful future.
What I’m Raising Money For
Every SEO Scholar has been given the opportunity to do an enrichment program over the summer, whether it is going to a pre-college program, doing an internship, or traveling to a different country. I have been given the opportunity to travel to Lisbon, Portugal to study marine science for three weeks and during this time I will have the experience of a lifetime. Some of my activities range from visiting
Algarve and learning its biodiversity to snorkeling in the sea. However, this trip is quite expensive and I wouldn't be able to do it if it weren't for your help and SEO.
Why You Should Give
Donating will not only give me the chance to pursue my interest in natural science, but it will also give me the opportunity to expand my horizons and grow as a person. Going to Portugal will force me out of my comfort zone because I will be in a foreign country with a foreign language and I will not know anybody in my program. I would be forever grateful to those who would support me in reaching this goal of mine, thank you!
