About

Hii my name is Dolores Marcial Modesto and I am currently a junior who attends the Facing History School. Anime, manga, and art are some of the hobbies I do during my free time. However, most of my time is dedicated to my academics including SEO which is a rigorous program dedicated to closing the achievement gap between low income and affluent high school students. In the future I want to be able to give back to my community and show the empowerment of women by entering the STEM field and perusing science.

What I’m Raising Money For

The summer of my junior year all of the SEO students will be participating in an EP that will improve/teach us different cultures, patience, leadership, and networking. The program I will be attending this summer is Italy which where I will be learning about the Renaissance through literature, architect, history, language, art, and science. I am not only raising for myself I also want to do it for my friends that are in SEO as well. I want to be able to help them so that they can also get the amazing opportunity to travel or study.

Why You Should Give

For the 16 years I have been alive and breathing I have never stepped a foot out of this country. My life is basically New York City and the states that surround New York. In order to flourish and make my transition easier to college I want to be able to explore another section of the world to get a taste of life. Being able to immerse myself in another culture and environment will help me when it comes the time to be independent in college and the challenges I will be facing when attending it. By giving, you will be aiding not only my experience but also my peer's education and experience.
