About

My name is Matthew Perez, and I'm currently a junior at Marble Hill School for International Studies. I am passionate about the Engineering of Mechanics and Technologies, which have influenced and shaped our society today. Mobile phones, driverless cars, 3D printers, and artificial intelligence these are just some of the many technologies that have changed the lives of countless individuals, and I want to be a part of the invention of those innovations. One of the things I've done is take an after-school coding class in order to prepare me for this future career.

What I’m Raising Money For

I will be participating in an academic summer enrichment program that will provide me with a firsthand exposure to some of the top engineering programs in the country. I will get to spend 6 weeks attending advanced math and science courses that I wouldn't have access to at my high school.

This is all made possible through Sponsors for Educational Opportunities (SEO), an after-school academic program that I have been attending since the ninth grade. Since the 1960's, SEO has helped thousands of underrepresented high school students who will be the first in their families to attend college. I owe so much of the knowledge and friends I have to SEO, and I'm so grateful for the community they've provided to me. Your donation will help not only me but every student in this program attend a summer enrichment program, which will broaden their horizon both academically and personally. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated and utilized to the fullest extent.
