About

I am Justin Pimentel and I was born and raised in the Bronx. As far back as I can remember, I have always loved Math and would always be great at it. As a minority, I make it my priority to always try my best and surpass expectations. I'm currently 16 and attend the High School for Environmental Studies, which is in Manhattan. Because I am apart of the SEO community, I'm aware of many issues like the achievement gap; therefore, they give us the opportunity to accomplish our goals and set the path for us to be successful.

What I’m Raising Money For

Over the summer, I have been given the opportunity to travel abroad and go to Spain. Here, I will be able to embed myself into a mix of regional cultures from across the Iberian peninsula, Madrileños. While living in Spain, I'll share their royal neighborhoods, artistic treasures and laid back way of life but living and communicating with locals and living as if I lived there permanently. Through multiple activities, I will learn about Spaniard culture, traditions, and economics. Living with a local family, I'll gain a deeper insight and connection to your new community. Additionally, I'll be able to play soccer with the people who live there, which is an exciting experience because ever since I was young, I have always loved soccer.

Why You Should Give

Traveling to Spain, I'll be able to learn about a different culture than New York City's. Since birth, I have always lived in New York, so traveling and visiting Spain, I'll be able to learn about a unique culture. Additionally, I'll be away from my parents for numerous weeks, so I'll learn how to how be responsible for myself and learn how to be more independent. This is an essential skill for when I dorm in college.
