About

Hi! My name is Sigrid Ferreras and I'm a junior at Northside Charter High School in Williamsburg,Brooklyn. I am very active through my school with National Honors Society, and outside of school with programs such as Sponsors for Educational Opportunity(SEO) and NYPD Explorers. Ever since I was young I had a passion for helping people, which has lead me to want to become a doctor when I get older, which has led me to want to become a dentist when I get older. Being in SEO has afforded me the opportunity to follow my dreams and has connected me with an internship that will give me prior experience in the medical field over the summer.

What I’m Raising Money For

Coming from an impoverished neighborhood, I would've never been able to get medical experience while still in high school. This program is a medical internship that allows me to shadow doctors in the medical field that I intend to get into in the future, which is dentistry. This allows me to gain the experience and the professionalism that will put me ahead of my other peers when applying to college.

Why You Should Give

This internship does not only stress that it will benefit me, but it will benefit my community when I'm done. It will jump start my future career as a dentist, and will help me work in impoverished neighborhoods. Giving to me will not only benefit me but others in need of dental care.
