About
Greetings, my name is Andy Liang and I am a junior at the High School of Economics and Finance. When I'm not in school, I often attend SEO. SEO is a program for the undermined student to get into and exceed expectations in college. Its goal is to eliminate the education gap that exist between racial and economic groups. My hobbies include knitting, scrapbooking, and hiking. One that most people do not know is my fascination with swimming. I taught myself how to swim at a young age and did it annually. This was catalyzed by my interest in marine biology and diving.
What I’m Raising Money For
I was presented with an amazing opportunity this summer, from SEO, to attend a program to do just that. To be on a boat with others like me with like interest and the passion to explore and learn more about the sea. I would be going to another country and not only swim but to portray my leadership skills and network with other students internationally. This experience would further help me obtain independence skills which can benefit me in college. Getting out of my comfort zone would allow me to learn more academically as well as personally (about myself). I wish to attend this program in hopes to challenge my self and hope for a return in life skills.
Why You Should Give
This trip sounds amazing but it is not free, however. Although it is subsidized, I still have a personal fundraising goal of $350 for my team's own self-enrichment programs. Helping fund this lifetime experience would help me work on myself as well as other like-minded students who also partake in their programs. Any contributors are greatly appreciated. You don't need to donate to help me reach my goal, please take some time to share and spread my message to reach a wider audience.
