About

My name is Hanan Abraha and I am currently a junior at the High School for Environmental Studies. I grew up in the Bronx, NY and I am the youngest member of my family. When I am not busy doing copious amounts of homework or studying diligently, you can find me reading and exploring the city. Moreover, history and english are two of my favorite subjects in school.

What I’m Raising Money For

Since freshman year of high school, I have been a part of SEO Scholars, a program dedicated to bridging the achievement gap. The program offers Enrichment Programs, ranging from internships to travel abroad programs, to their scholars for the summer before senior year. This summer, I have the privilege of traveling abroad to study Arabic for a language immersion program in Rabat, Morocco. I am looking to raise money to cover all the travel expenses for this invaluable travel experience.

Why You Should Give

Traveling to Morocco this summer will give me the opportunity of adapting to a different environment and chance to learn a second language. Learning a second language will also allow me to contribute to the global community and provide me with unforgettable experiences. On this trip, I am looking to make friends that come from different parts of the world and I am also looking forward to taking on a leadership role (something out of my comfort zone). Additionally, I would not have the chance to travel abroad without your financial support.
