About
My name is Nathally Abreu and I am currently a junior at Manhattan Village Academy. My personal interests include reading and listening to music. In addition, I am a part of a program called Sponsors for Educational Opportunity. This program is an eight-year-long academic program that supports unrepresented students. I am in this program because I aspire to go to college and gain a minor in Psychology. I want to do this so that I can use my skills and knowledge to help others.
What I’m Raising Money For
I am raising money for an Enrichment Program, specifically a travel abroad to France. I am excited about this great opportunity because not everyone has the chance to travel, learn, and immerse themselves in a different culture. Through this experience, I will be able to learn about the world and gain a wider perspective on French culture. During this travel abroad, I will be living with a host family, and I will take part in the day to day activities with them, such as cooking with them. I will also be able to develop some French language skills along the way. The main purpose of my trip is to learn about French food and how it connects to culture. The money I am fundraising will be used to support not only my participation in an enrichment program, but it will also enable my fellow peers to participate in their enrichment program for the summer.
Why You Should Give
This experience will help me grow as a person because I will be able to understand other people's cultures and ideas. This money will not only help me, but it will also benefit the people before and after me. By this, I mean that the knowledge and social experience that I bring back from France will go beyond me and into future generations. I will be able to bring back what I learned and observed from France and show that there is more to the country and culture than you would think. The purpose for this is to assist me in becoming a better leader, who appreciates different perspectives. By doing this I hope to cause a positive change in the world and make it a better place, where we see people for who they are without biases.
