About
My name is Jahnay Bryan, and I am a junior at Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics. I am also an Sponsors for Educational Opportunity scholar: a program dedicated to aiding underserved high school students. For my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, reading, running, and spending time with my family. I am the middle sister of three as my sisters are a central aspect of my life. In the future, I hope to pursue my passion of medicine by becoming a pediatric neurologists. This donation will cover six weeks of my program in South Africa focused on social change, human rights, and leadership.
What Iām Raising Money For
This summer I am going to South Africa for a six-week program in order to learn more about South Africa's sociopolitical culture, strengthen my diplomacy skills, and immerse myself in a culture starkly different from my own. Through this invaluable experience, I hope to become a global citizen, and understand how sociopolitical climates of other countries are both similar and different to that of America's.
Why You Should Give
I am so excited to go to South Africa because I will be exposed to different cultures, areas, and people. On a broader note, my generation is becoming an agent for change, and this program will provide me with the diplomatic skills and cultural responsiveness needed to make a great leader. I hope to use the skills I acquire in South Africa in my future profession as a neurologist.
