About

My name is Tiahna Thompson. I am a junior at the Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice and I am apart of a non-profit organization called SEO Scholars. My number one goal in life is to become a successful lawyer and be proud of myself and the accomplishments I have made in the long run. I enjoy participating in organizations and groups that allow for me to meet various people and different backgrounds and mindsets. I have invested a lot of my time in women empowerment groups such as "Young Women's Association" and the "Sadie Nash Leadership Program".

What I’m Raising Money For

I am raising money to be able to attend a law internship in the city. This experience will allow me to expand my horizon within the legal field and explore topics and ideas I have probably never heard of prior to. I will be able to work hands on with professionals in their specific area of focus regarding law. This will enable me to decipher what area I want to focus on when I go to college and begin my career. I would really love to be able to get this experience and indulge myself into a new atmosphere and space that will allow me to grow holistically.

Why You Should Give

Since a little kid have been interested in law and it has honestly stuck with me. There was never a doubt in my mind that I should be a lawyer. The reason I wanted to become a lawyer was not the generic reasoning: "because I like to argue". The reason my passion is to become a lawyer and to work in an area of law is because I want to see change in my community, I want to see justice. Even if I don't make such a bug enough change that I want to see, I at least want to leave an impression on someone's life and inspire them to make a change. Just getting the experience at only seventeen is such an amazing experience that I will not take for granted and I believe that I will make the most out of this experience and use everything I learn to help support me in countless areas of my life.
