About

Hi, my name is Josue Quintero and I attend Brooklyn Preparatory High School which helps students become engaged and motivated to attend college. I extend my academic profession by also attending SEO Scholars which helps low-income and minority students prepare for college readiness and success. I am a student athlete who takes part in shotokan karate, track, and swimming. My favorite hobbies are networking, reading, eating, playing sports, camping, and exercising.

What I’m Raising Money For

I am raising money because I will be participating in an all-out adventure in Alaska this summer. My expedition will consist of 150 miles of sea kayaking and more than 80 miles of backpacking/ hiking through the mountainous Alaskan landscape. I will be joining a group of 16-17 year old's with three instructors who will help us understand the nature and importance of being a leader.

Why You Should Give

My cause is important and personal to me. I come from a low-income family and I am the only child at my house. I was born in Colombia, and ever since I arrived in the U.S, I've always took advantage in opportunities that would expand my education and success in life. With my goal of $300, I wish to invest that money by giving back to my community and showing them on why a student like me can apply for amazing programs and know that they can rely on their community to care for their cause. I've wanted this opportunity since freshman year of high school, so you can make a difference in my life by contributing to my cause. In addition to that, the funds will help contribute to the program’s cost for equipment expenses.
