About
My name is Omar Khan and I am a junior at University Heights High School in the South Bronx. One of my greatest aspirations is to travel the world, and a program I am in called SEO Scholars (Seizing Every Opportunity) has granted me with the opportunity to get one step closer to this goal.
What I’m Raising Money For
This summer, like Venetian explorers throughout time, I will look beyond Italy’s borders toward the sea to embark on a journey through coastal villages and towns from Slovenia to Croatia and see the incredible influence of La Dominanteon on her Adriatic neighbors. I will be walking the promenade along beautiful beaches and feel the Venetian influence. In Rovinj, Croatia, eat fresh seafood, hike cobbled streets and swim in the warm waters of the Adriatic sea before returning to Venice and the journey home.
Your contribution will cover the cost of transportation and the activities I do in Italy!
Why You Should Give
Through my summer experience in Italy, I will be able to learn how to adapt to new cultures and explore new settings. This will be my first time going across the globe, and will allow me to learn that there is more to the world than what we experience in NYC! We have a glimpse of Italian culture in places like Little Italy in NYC, but going to Italy this summer will show me a broader view of Italian culture.
