About
My name is Son-Jay Lake and I am a current junior at Central Park East High School. I have a passion for physics and philosophy, and in my free time I enjoy reading mystery novels. I am an active student who enjoys participating in track and field, tutoring my peers, and trying new things.
What I’m Raising Money For
While many of my peers around the city will waste their summer on games and hangouts, I intend to get the most of it through an enlightened perspective. The money raised through this fundraiser will allow me to go backpacking and kayaking in the Adirondack Mountains. Treks along steep precipices and toils across rushing streams with a group will push me out of my comfort zone and build my leadership skills. Your donation will be utilized in giving me access to such an amazing opportunity.
Why You Should Give
Your generosity would play a part in allowing me to step out of my comfort zone. Being forced to work with others in the wilderness of the Adirondacks would strengthen my ability to empathize with and understand the perspectives of others. The breakaway from an internet and relatively leisure filled life will only serve to increase my patience and confidence when trying new things. Beautiful sights, the building of leadership traits such as confidence and charisma, and many other holistic aspects are the things that you could provide with your donation.
