About

My name is Juan Piedrahita and I am a Colombian boy that was born and raised in Queens, New York. I am an academically driven 4.0 student that´s currently enrolled in High school for Environmental Studies. I have been exposed to a plethora of cultures which has promoted my interest in traveling abroad and expanding my horizons. I am also a passionate soccer player that wishes to progress this career.

What I’m Raising Money For

This fundraiser is dedicated towards my dream of traveling abroad to play soccer with other competitive players. This summer instead of wasting time doing things that are not gonna help me progress in the future, I took the initiative to apply to a travel abroad program and thankfully i got accepted. At Brazil, the soccer capital of the world, I will be able to train in competitive academies and experience a cultural exchange while doing what I love. Besides that this cultural exchange while help connect me to more people in the future since i will participate in Portuguese language classes. Furthermore by learning to communicate with people that aren´t the same as me I will be able to obtain the necessary social skills that are needed for when i go to University.

My Enrichment Program is giving me the chance to reach new heights in my life, and is making my dreams a reality. With your funds of any amount I will be able to cover for all expenses that come with the trip(such as board, and my stay in Brazil as a whole)and will place me one step closer to making this dream a reality. Being the son of two immigrant parents that never got to reach that higher level of education its more difficult for me to have access to the same opportunities others are given.
