About

Hey! My name is Xavier Ortiz, and I am an 11th grader at The Laboratory School of Finance and Technology. Apart from being a full-time high school student, I supervise other high school students in their work with middle schoolers by mentoring them and helping them gain access to enriching and educational experiences. Additionally, some of my hobbies are Muay Tai (kickboxing), writing poetry, playing video games, reading poetry, and baking.

What I’m Raising Money For

One of my dreams has always been to attend college, and a crucial part of gaining the experiences to prepare myself has been these summer programs. Through these programs I, personally, have grown immensely both intellectually and personally. Through this fundraiser, I hope to help others gain the same experiences I was fortunate to benefit from - and ultimately, I hope to inspire others younger than me to aspire to go to college.

Why You Should Give

I was fortunate to benefit from fundraisers like this in the past, which allowed me to access these programs - without these experiences, it would have been much harder for me prepare myself for things that may seem straightforward to others, like taking the SAT, writing essays, and seeking out the right experiences that make you stand out on a college application.

I’m asking you to give to continue the work of past efforts and pay it forward to the next generation - by giving; you would be helping over two hundred scholars gain formative experiences to inspire and prepare them for college.
