About
My name is Erika Silva and I am a junior in the high school Bronx Studio School for Writers and Artists. I enjoy challenging myself and trying new things like going out of the state and joining new clubs. For example, like yearbook club. I also enjoy to spend my time reading and coloring. Through my program Sponsors for Educational Opportunity I spend my time learning academical things.
What I’m Raising Money For
Through Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, I plan to take advantage of my summer by participating in a travel program which I have been selected to sail across the British Virgin Islands for two weeks. This will help me challenge myself and help me get out of my comfort zone through learning how to work with others, build a community with new people who I've never met, learn what it's like to live without someone being there, be independent and advocate for myself.
Why You Should Give
With your contribution this summer I will challenge myself and build skills that I can use in the future. Being that I've never traveled out of the country and have grown up being dependent on my parents, your contribution would benefit me for when I go to college and would have to be independent. I hope to advocate for myself which is useful when I go to college.
