About

Hello! My name is Diana Mendoza and I am a junior at All City Leadership Academy in Brooklyn. One of my many passions include learning new languages and immersing myself into different cultures. I grew up speaking both English and Spanish, as well as speaking short phrases in Japanese to my Japanese friend's mom. Having known my friend for over 8 years, I have immersed myself in her culture as far as her mom "adopting" me as her second daughter.

What I’m Raising Money For

This summer I, an SEO Scholar, am looking forward to participating in an Enrichment Program, where I will have access to education in another country. I will immerse myself in Moroccan culture by not only living with a host family but as well as 25 hours of classes per week. In those 25 hours per week I will be taking the language course as well.

Why You Should Give

This Travel Program is a chance for me to leave the country for the first time, pushing me out of my comfort zone. This would ultimately help me build independence for when college comes! In lending your financial support, I will have access to an experience of a lifetime that I could not otherwise access. I will meet people in another country that I otherwise would've never met. Not only will they provide me with a language to bring back to the United States but I will also probably be foreign to them. In bringing back a language with me I will be able to spread the beauty of Moroccan culture. Any donations would be greatly appreciated whether it is a dollar or ten, perhaps you can also spread the message around if donations are unavailable.
