About
My name is Natalie Delgado, and I am a Junior at Hostos High School. I love learning about history and math. In my free time, I run for fun. I enjoy keeping myself busy through SEO, cross country, and math team. For the next year and half, I am excited to learn about different colleges and use my trip as a valuable experience for my college experience.
What I’m Raising Money For
I am raising money to spend my summer in China and immerse myself in their language and culture for a month. In China, I will be living with a host family in Nanjing, taking Mandarin classes, spending a weekend in Shanghai, visiting historical museums, and exploring the city. Why You Should Give
Growing up in the South Bronx and coming from a family of immigrants, I never thought I would have the opportunity to travel around the world. This summer I want to challenge myself by getting a different perspective of the world and meeting new people. Since I am passionate about History, going to Nanjing would allow me to learn more about their history such as the Nanjing massacre and visiting temples. I would also get a better insight of China's history because Nanjing used to be the national capital during the Ming dynasty. Apart from further learning more about history, traveling will make me more independent and feel prepared for college as a first generation student. Your donations will help me and my peers from SEO experience a once in a life time opportunity that many students like me are not given.
