About
The Sponsors for Educational Opportunity program (SEO) is a free, 8 year academic program for low-income prospective students in both NY and San Francisco birthed to ensure that these students can overcome financial boundaries and attend prestigious colleges around the country.
What I’m Raising Money For
SEO thrives through the contribution of those willing to help see the future of the world nourished in the best educational environments for their needs, as such there is a reliance on fundraisers to support the tools needed to support the opportunities given to students.
When SEO's scholars reach 11th grade, they enroll in an enrichment program to participate in over the summer. Enrichment programs vary from a semester of study at a prestigious college to internships at major businesses. They give students glimpses into future endeavors they may take on or build interests in schools/career paths they may not have considered previously.
In my case, for example, I have been selected for an academic program at an engineering university within the states. Donations would cover the cost of my textbooks, transportation, and dorm as I learn from the best within the world's engineering field.
Why You Should Give
Your volunteer donations will ensure that many of these students have the opportunity to clear the income-gap that separates them from other students of more affluent backgrounds. You ensure that no amount of money prevents an otherwise educated student to be blocked from a better life because their family didn't make enough to attract schools. In many ways you ensure these students the right to exceed.
