About
My name is Ebrima Darboe, I am currently a junior in Bronx Leadership Academy 2 in Bronx, New York. I am a student athlete, I play basketball while managing to get good grades in school. I am in a program, SEO Scholars, a free eight-year academic program that gets low-income public high school students to and through college. After high school I have aspirations of going to college and majoring in finance or accounting.
What I’m Raising Money For
Fortunately, I've been nominated for a pre-college enrichment program at Skidmore College. At Skidmore I will be exposed to a rigorous college curriculum before my senior year of high school to prepare me for the challenge ahead which is college. I will have the opportunity to take a college class of my choice and a mandatory writing class that gives me the chance to earn college credit. I will be on college campus living as a college student, gaining experience for 5 weeks.
Why You Should Give
During the program I'll have the chance to be living on college campus for 5 weeks, room and board and take courses and mostly give me experience before college admissions. However, these are costly and there are things that need to be paid for like: textbooks, transportation, expenses, etc. Fundraising will help cover the cost of these expenses. Additionally, I will get a sense of independence away from all my support groups.
