About

Hello! My name is Joey Lin, and I am a junior at the NYC iSchool. I am also a part of SEO Scholars: an organization devoted to minimizing the educational gap by assisting underrepresented students. I enjoy writing, history, and math. Outside of school, I attend social activism club, code, and spend time with my family. With no clear sight on what I would like to pursue in the future, I am currently exploring different interests!

What I’m Raising Money For

This summer, I will be participating in a study abroad program in Italy, with a heavy focus on cultural immersion and language studies. The program will give me the opportunity to interact with local communities, try new food, and visit ancient palaces! At the end of the four weeks, I will become fluent in the Italian language, strengthen my communication skills, and develop confidence in my ability to handle more challenging tasks. Your donation will be able to cover tuition, transportation, and other additional fees!

Why You Should Give

Being the first woman in my family to attend college, I have worked tirelessly in school to make this aspiration a reality. I will cultivate the skills needed to set me up for success in college, such as self-advocacy and independence. Not only will participating in this program benefit me, but it will help to establish a reputation that ultimately provides future scholars to have the same opportunity!
