About

Hi! My name is Angelena Cannon. I am an 11th grader at Vanguard High School. I enjoy writing, reading, and critical thinking activities. On Wednesdays during my school's second block of the day, I teach my own debate class to the ninth graders in my school. This experience is important to me because it challenges me in my critical thinking skills as I create the curriculum and think about what to debate about. Ever since I was ten years old I've had this passion for debate and reading. This passion made me want to peruse a career in law and ever since then I've been trying to seize different opportunities that can help me get closer to my goal of being a lawyer.

What I’m Raising Money For

I am raising money for a summer law internship in Manhattan, NY. This money is contributing to students, just like me, and their summer enrichment programs. This money will allow me and other students to be able to join various rigorous programs that will grant them with life-changing/ learning experiences.

Why You Should Give

This summer law internship will help me get closer to my goal of being a lawyer. Your donation will grant me with the opportunity to get a more hands-on experience in the career field that I want to explore. This will help me make sure that law is want I want to peruse (even though I'm pretty sure), and it will allow me to a resume building experience. Through the program, I will be able to shadow a lawyer as they work on real cases and learn what the day- to- day looks like as a lawyer. I will be granted the opportunity to visit a courtroom and pratice deabting about various topics. This experince will help fuel my passion for law.
