About
My name is Christopher Lawrence, and I am a junior at Forest Hills High School. I have always been interested in music and cooking that exposes me to new cultures. I have been singing and cooking since I was around 4 years old. In both my church and community, I am exposed to different cultures, traditions, and lifestyles. I am a part of Seizing Every Opportunity (SEO) as well as a volunteer at my high school library and a dedicated member of the music ministry at my local church.
What I’m Raising Money For
I am raising money to fund a summer enrichment program to China. This program will be fully immersing me in the language and culture. Understanding the culture of people around me allows me to appreciate how and why people live their lives. People who have been influential in my life including teachers and my mentor are rooted in Asian culture; although it will only be a glimpse of Asia as a whole, it will open my eyes to how their lives were impacted so much.
Why You Should Give
I have been an SEO Scholar for 2.5 years. This year, SEO Scholars is allowing me to explore the world while doing what I love (learning language).
