About
My name is Ismail Youssou, and I am a Junior at the Urban Assembly School for
Applied Math and Science. I have a passion for learning and I’m very involved
at my school – both inside and outside of the classroom. For example, I am an
assistant business manager at my school store, and academically, I participate
in the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Scholar’s program, which is a
college development and preparation program. I recognize and fully understand
the importance of an education and would like to continue to pursue my education
even further by attending college, where I plan to study Computer Science. I am
determined to take advantage of all opportunities to put myself in the best
position possible to succeed in my academics and in my life.
What I’m Raising Money For
I am from New York City and live in a tough area without many resources or
guidance for people my age. Still, I am determined to find a way to a better,
more fruitful life. In my freshman year of high school, I was accepted into the
SEO Scholars program and have been very involved ever since – putting forth over
1,000 hours of work throughout the years. Once I attend college, I will be a
first-generation college student, so I am eager to be as prepared for my college
experience as I can possibly be. As a result of my good performance this year, I
have been accepted to attend a summer program at a university. Here, I will
attend college classes where I will learn about a variety of subjects, meet and
interact with professors, and speak with students and hear about their
experiences – which I am very excited about. Overall, I am very excited about
this opportunity and I welcome the learning experience it will provide me. The
money raised will help support my participation in this summer program.

Big or small, I welcome and appreciate any donation. I have come very far
and I recognize the potential and internal motivation I have to be a great
college student, and eventually, a great software engineer. I will be very
grateful for your support to help bring me closer to achieving my goals and
getting even closer to that place in my life where I can help others – just like
