About
Hello! My name is Tadius Frank, and I am currently a junior at the High School for Law Enforcement and Public Safety. Outside of school, I am a scholar at Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO Scholars) and a fellow for Obama's My Brother's Keeper Intiative (MBK). In my spare time, I enjoy playing volleyball with friends, practicing my french with my siblings, and sketching. Being an immigrant from Guyana, a small country in South America, I have personally witnessed the ways in which a community is negatively impacted by poverty. As a result, I aspire to pursue a career that will allow me to fervently aid underserved communities. When I am not taking challenging courses in school, I aid my student body by voicing their concerns to the administration through Student Government, and my local community by organizing food and clothing drives, and fundraisers.
What I’m Raising Money For
This summer, SEO scholars has allowed me to attend a prestigious pre-college program in Maryland. Through six weeks of taking challenging courses with diverse minority students that share the same goals, I will be able to actively learn the skills that are necessary to pursue a career in STEM. As an Engineer, I will be able to further my humanitarian goal of helping underserved communities by creating technology to deal with human problems such as pollution, and the spread of diseases especially through mosquitoes.
In addition, not only will your contribution help me by covering my traveling fares, but also allow my peers at SEO scholars to pursue their aspirations this summer as well.
Why You Should Give
Helping unprivileged communities such as my own in Guyana as always been one of my primary goals, and I believe that a career in STEM will allow me to do this. Not only will this program set the foundation for me to successfully study and pursue any career in the STEM field, but also allow me, as a first generation college student and an immigrant, to develop the confidence, ingenuity, drive to face college, a new challenge.
Your contribution will allow me to attend this amazing opportunity to experience college first hand, and allow my peers to attend their life changing programs!
