About
Hello, my name is Allen Morales! I'm a Bronx high-school junior currently attending The Laboratory School of Finance and Technology in the Bronx. I'm a self-motivated and completely self-taught artist who hasn't had artistic instruction since 5th grade. I'm also an SEO Scholar, A 4-year long program that's given me more challenging and in-depth classes, as well as intensive SAT prep classes.
What I’m Raising Money For
I have been provided with the opportunity to travel to an acclaimed arts camp in Michigan. The program would help me build a professional portfolio, as well as further develop my draftsmanship. I specifically want to go into animation, and this program provides classes in their curriculum. Here lies the problem, I'm in New York, and that's a bit of a flight. I also would need to provide a number of personal supplies and buy the required uniform. I need donations in order to afford travel costs, uniform costs, and supply costs.
Why You Should Give
This would be my first real experience with a professional art class. If I were to travel there, it would give me not only an opportunity to get much-needed portfolio building instruction but also a foot in the door for a potential job. Being a self-taught artist, finally being able to get feedback on my work and further develop my art. Possibly most important, getting to this program would surround me with other artists who share the same burning passion for drawing that I do.
