About
Hi, my name is David Hudson. I'm a junior at Brooklyn Collaborative. Outside of school, I'm a member of the robotics club, and I attend SEO Scholars, a program dedicated to closing the achievement gap between high-income and low-income families (I am part of the latter), because I love to learn about the world, challenge myself, and meet new people. When I'm not busy with school and SEO, I like to read and write (and watch television).
What I’m Raising Money For
Through SEO Scholars, I'm able to attend a pre-college program for 7 weeks in the summer outside of New York City. I'm raising money to cover the expenses of transportation and textbooks. With this pre-baccalaureate program, I will be immersed into a college environment and learn how to survive in the real world. I will meet new people, both similar and different to me in many ways. This money will prepare me for the my future college experience by participating in rigorous, exciting courses.
Why You Should Give
I come from a low-income family, and I'm well aware that I may not have the same privileges as some of the teenagers who are my own age. Without SEO Scholars, I would never have the chance to attend this program (along with many other things), and I'm so grateful to have this chance to improve myself as both a student and a person. Your donation will allow me to seize not only this opportunity, but also the ones after it.
