About
Hello! My name is Yetzirah Banda and I am a junior at Central Park East High school. I am a leader in my school and community. I really enjoy tutoring children and learning about the world around me. Some of my hobbies include learning Korean through music, reading, writing poems and doing what I can to help those around me. I have spent the last three years of my school career enrolled in SEO scholars, a non-profit organization which has given me the opportunity to expand my growth and learning.
What I’m Raising Money For
I am raising money because thanks to SEO, I have been given the opportunity to travel to Madrid this summer. I am really honored to have this opportunity because I have a chance to grow more as an individual. As a New Yorker, it is rare to get time to just breathe. Everyday we rush to where we need to go and barely spend time to learn about ourselves. These past three years, my schedule has revolved around school and programs 24/7, not that this is bad, but I feel as though I have room for more growth. Going to Madrid this summer means not only getting a break from the busy New York life but being able to learn who I am as a person and in this community. I will learn about different cultures and lifestyles as well as my native language, Spanish. This money will not only be for me. It will also be for my fellow class of scholars, who are on this journey of growth and learning
