About

My name is Salma Salem. I attend High school for Health Professions and Human Services. I am interested in the medical field, and I know in the future I want to help people. I am fascinated by the idea of helping people get a second chance at life and I think I will learn valuable lessons while becoming a doctor and actually being one.

What I’m Raising Money For

In the future I hope to be a surgeon. This will require me to do rigorous work that I am not prepared for, so this summer I will be spending 7 weeks on a college campus. I will take a biomedical ethics course and Introduction to biology to prepare myself for what I will experience in college during the premed track. These classes will also give me college credit, so I will enter college already ahead.

Why You Should Give

Many students enter college without any prior knowledge of how it will be. Some ultimately fail/ dropout of college because of how intense it can be. This can be my way of getting firsthand experience and preparing for college. I believe students should be able to get ready for college because by the time they get there they can start and succeed early. Thus more students can graduate and add something to society whether that is working, or helping people, or just doing what they love.
