About

Hello! My name is Tiffany Corprew and I am a 16 year old junior attending Marble Hill School for International Studies. I enjoy reading and writing immensely, it transports me to worlds unimaginable. I would like to learn about people across the world and learn how to bridge them together despite our differences. I am also a part of a program named SEO Scholars, which serves underrepresented high school students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds aiming to make a mark in the world. This program has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and attain knowledge I have never even heard of before. Before SEO, I didn't know a single thing about the application process, nor did I have the tools to do so. They have given me the confidence to continuing developing the person I know that I can be.

What I’m Raising Money For

I am raising money for both myself and the rest of the 11th grade scholars. Since SEO is a non-profit organization, it can be difficult to get money and fund over 200 scholars to embark on a journey in order to better themselves. By raising this money, this will me and my fellow peers to gain an opportunity that we would not have otherwise. The happiness of the people around me matters greatly, and my peers have worked hard despite having society working against them. I am applying to a travel program which will allow me to go to China and experience a culture vastly different than mine. I am greatly honored to have been given the opportunity of a lifetime by SEO. Being that I have never left the United States before, this is a possibility that I could only dream of. This program will let me learn about green energy, sustainability, and green culture, and allow me to connect to a culture vastly different than mine.

Why You Should Give

To me, this program will allow me to learn about critical issues, such as green energy, environment, and sustainability in China. It will allow me to make connections between cultures and experience things greatly outside of my comfort zone, hopefully developing me to become a leader in this world. The odds are stacked up against those poor, of color, or oppressed by society.
