About

My name is Quila Gustave and I am 16 years old. I am a junior at the High School for Health Professions and Human Services (HPHS) who is interested in psychology, arts, and language. HPHS is a diverse school and the students come from different types of backgrounds. It has provided me with ample amount of opportunities, such as SEO, to participate and learn about other people's cultural backgrounds and tradition. Additionally, I hope to become a therapist and advocate for mental illness awareness.

What I’m Raising Money For

This summer, I am planning to do a summer abroad program in Korea. Here, I will be able to immerse myself in Korean culture and do intensive study to learn their language. Furthermore, I will be staying with a host family which would give me practical experience to further my linguistic studies. With the funds I hope to raise, it will cover airfare, living, and educational supplies that will help me gain the most out of this program.

Why You Should Give

The reason why I was attracted to this program was to experience a culture that is different from America. Being able to see the architectural style, learn about current affairs, and interact with the local citizens will make me a more cultivated individual. I hope to utilize this opportunity towards my future career of being a therapist and enhance communication and art skills.
