About

My name is Itxel, and I am a current Junior at Brooklyn Collaborative Studies High School. On my free time I enjoy to participate in my dance group, create Do It Yourself crafts, write stories, read, and spend time with my friends and family. Academically, I hope to pursue a career in the medical field. Currently, I really enjoy all science related classes especially biology and chemistry. My fundraiser goal is $400. This summer I will be traveling abroad for three weeks to Thailand to study environmental justice.

What I’m Raising Money For

The money raised will help support my participation in a summer travel abroad program in Thailand in which I will be studying environmental justice. I am really excited to travel outside of Brooklyn because I will be seeing new parts of the world and I will be able to enhance a different culture. In my sophomore year I took a climate change class in which we studied New York's climate change and through that I realized how deleterious it actually is. In my trip to Thailand I would like to see how climate change is different, and so when I return I would like to bring one possible solution to the table to try to limit the damage done.
