About

My name is Annelisa Rodriguez and I was born and raised in New York City. I currently attend The Facing History High School on the west side of the city. I am very invested in my education and further expanding my horizons. I also attend SEO, a program which assists high school students in getting to and through college. In my spare time, I play softball, attend NJROTC, and I babysit.

What I’m Raising Money For

Every summer the Junior class of SEO is given the opportunity to get into an experiential program, setting us further apart from our counterparts in our public high school. This will assist us by further opening horizons, learning first hand the skills that morph us into productive adults in the workforce. In the end, the whole experience will help me become a college-ready student. I plan to spend my summer working with a program called The GO Project, a program that will give me much-needed experience before I head on the path to being an educator.

My program specifically is a five-week summer program where I will be supporting the instruction of a classroom under the guidance of a Head Teacher or Enrichment Teacher. Here I will learn extremely valuable skills that will help me later on as I pursue my career.

Why You Should Give

This enrichment program is a chance for me to interact with children in an academic setting before I actually become a teacher. Without your support, my peers at SEO and I would not be given such an opportunity.
