About
My name is Mason Fleming. I am currently a junior at Hostos Lincoln Academy of Science. I am also a SEO Scholar. SEO Scholars is a free eight-year academic program that gets undeserved public high school students in New York City to and through college—with a 90% college graduation rate.
What I’m Raising Money For
Over the summer of our Junior year every SEO scholar gets to attend a summer enrichment program that will further their academic and social growth. The summer enrichment program that I will be attending is a study abroad program in Italy. Through this program I will be able to better understand and explore the Italian culture. This is really important to me because this program will foster three essential skills independence, budgeting, and communication. Which is not only going to help me in college, but after college as well.
Why You Should Give
With your help,I will be better prepared for college because by visiting Italy I will be exposed to the future I had no previous exposure to. Which is very similar to a college setting where I won't be familiar to every culture that I encounter. This experience will allow me to become more self dependant and more aware of my surroundings. Not many people in my community are fortunate enough to have this experience, so me traveling abroad allows to bring back that knowledge I've gained and spread it throughout my community. By lending your financial support, it will allow me to have an experience of a lifetime!.
