About

Hello, my name is Lydia Lopez and I attend All City Leadership Secondary School. Raised in a small community of Bushwick in Brooklyn, NY, I hope to broaden my horizons and learn new things through experience. Throughout my life, my love and admiration for animals have grown, thus confirming my desire to continue this growth into my adulthood. My future aspiration is to understand the many ecosystems in this world and contribute that knowledge back to the people as a Veterinarian.

What I’m Raising Money For

In the span of 12 summer days, I will have the opportunity to travel to Montana and explore the unique life located there. Through a challenging yet worthwhile hike, I will be allowed to interact with not only the people but the animals which inhabit the area. Moreover, as part of the program, I immerse into the environment by interacting with it in activities like canoeing in the rivers, camping out as we go.

Why You Should Give

I lived my life in a bubble called Brooklyn and never really knew how to start exploring outside it into a more intimidating larger world; however, being given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that allows me to pursue my passion whilst getting out of my comfort zone through challenging activities, I want to try my best to follow through. I believe if I can succeed in raising enough funds to start this journey, I know I will be able to accomplish so much more!
