About
My name is Omar Hassan and I am a junior in Millennium Brooklyn High School. Growing up I have always had a passion for Politics and Law. From watching Obama's inauguration speech in 2008 to waiting to hear the latest update in the Mueller report, I have always wanted and plan to have a future as a public figure in New York then the country. In addition to politics, I have grown to have a great passion for law. Every couple weeks I am formally invited by a judge at the Criminal Supreme Court in NYC, to sit in on different trials and hearings.
What I’m Raising Money For
This summer I will be attending a month-long Political/ Public service program in Washington D.C. During the program, I will be visiting Capitol buildings, monuments, government buildings and even meeting with political figures and the chief supreme justice.
Why You Should Give
This summer program is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will help me gain insight into my future jobs but also help me to learn to be independent. I will be living on my own, hundreds of miles from home, on a gigantic campus far away from my parents. This opportunity will give me an idea of what college life will be like and above all will help my transformation from a teen into a young adult. When I become the mayor and the governor of NY I plan to give back to my community and help end the massive equity gap in NY. My program will help me prepare for my future responsibilities and will be a stepping stool in the right direction.
