About

Hi, my name is Sultan Martins. I am a 17 year old junior currently attending Midwood high school at Brooklyn College. When I’m not in school, studying for school or doing something otherwise school-related, my time is spent playing video games and writing, I want to be an author one day, one day soon. As for my future career, I want to go into politics, particularly international relations and work with the United Nations.

What I’m Raising Money For

This summer, I was lucky enough to be selected for a rigorous program, which sends kids abroad all over the world. Through this program I’ll be doing a myriad of things in France and Iceland, such as practicing the linguistic french skills, intern with a local business, work with children at a community center, help serving food at a food bank and visit active volcanoes and giant geysers in Iceland’s Golden Circle. Thankfully my scholarship will cover most of the costs. All contributions will go towards things it doesn’t cover such as the cost of airfare.

Why You Should Give

I see my future in international politics. I want to travel the world, meet new people and create bridges and better relations between various countries, going on this program would be a big first step in heading towards that goal, as a kid who’s never been out of the Northeast U.S., this is a huge opportunity that I know I won’t get again for a while. This opportunity will also let me examine another culture in-depth, which can be nothing but good for me.
