About

I am Alexander Rodriguez and I am writing to ask for your support to my SEO Summer Enrichment Program. The SEO Scholars Enrichment Program is a long-standing initiative to allow for high school Juniors to participate in a Summer-long immersion program to broaden their understanding of a field. As I intend to study neuroscience and public health in college, I am excited to share with you that I have been selected to participate in a prestigious 6-week travel program to India and Nepal this July to examine public health priorities.

What I’m Raising Money For

Your support will allow for me to travel to India and Nepal to…
~ Learn about strategic public health imperatives in the region
~ Gain an understanding of the intersection between medicine and culture
~ Understand how social determinants of health may impact a community
~ Develop a new perspective about the world by immersing in an environment that is not my own
~ Refine my leadership skills
~ Learn from a community of public health experts and like-minded high school Juniors that are empowered to foster social change
~Continue to apply my leadership skills as I design, develop and implement a community development project, of my own, throughout and beyond my senior year of high school.

I believe this enrichment program will allow for me to gather a new worldly perspective in medicine, a valuable experience as I intend to become a physician one day.
