About

My name is Jessica Yauri, and I am a junior enrolled at The Young Women Leadership School of Brooklyn and I also attend Medgar Evers College to study criminal law. I am also a volleyball and track player. Lately, I´ve had a distinct interest in immigration law because of the political uprising currently in Congress. I also plan on pursuing a career in law due to personal reasons, considering my older brother was apart of the group of migrants seeking asylum, currently located in San Luis, Arizona in Customs and Border protection. My curiosity in immigration and criminal law has increase and I plan to purser as a defense attorney in law.

What I’m Raising Money For

At this Internship program, I will participate in activities like workshops at Thurgood Marshall courthouse, an intern with a state or federal judge for the summer. This will give me exposure to a possible career path. It'll also allow me to get a first-hand experience of what it's like to be in the courtroom and legal system.

Why You Should Give

This opportunity will show me how to adjust to a career in law, for example how present myself, especially in a courtroom. Furthermore, it would solidify what type of law career I would want to pursue.
