About

Hi! My name is Mikiya Dryden. I'm a Junior at Mott Hall Bronx High School. I spend most of my time there both during and after school hours.I partake in many extra curricular activities such as Dance, Student Government, Student Equity Team, as well as BuildOn Volunteer Services. However, outside of school i'm very passionate about the arts, more specifically singing.

What I’m Raising Money For

I'm raising money in effort to get to a performing arts camp in Michigan. While there I will get to work with students from all around the world who are just as passionate about their branch of the arts as I am about singing and songwriting. I will also be able to cultivate my talents through the help of their expert faculty and instructors who are quite established in the world of the arts. Your donations will aid in getting me to this beautiful opportunity, so that I'm not only doing something productive over the summer, but I'm also learning about my capabilities as an artist.

Why You Should Give

I've always wanted to go to camp for the arts for as long as I could remember. But as a child in a low-income family 8, money wasn't necessarily available to help me reap the benefits of such "privileged" opportunity. So by helping me seize this opportunity, you're finally helping me achieve a life long dream. This opportunity would not give me the experience of working on my craft of music, but it would also help me learn important life skills to bring with me in college. Skills such as how to adapt to new environments, because the program is located in rural Michigan. As well as self advocacy skills because i'm in a new place, all by myself, so I'll have to practice speaking up to make sure I'm heard and that my needs are met.
