About
My name is Florence Agyei. Currently, I am an 11th grader at Manhattan Village Academy, and I participate in several afterschool programs such as S.E.O and Literacy Leaders. Living in New York City, I am surrounded by tall buildings, people, and sounds. However, I am not surrounded by chances, but I still look for opportunity anywhere I can.
What I’m Raising Money For
When I go to this enrichment program, I will be able to learn more about Italian culture and language. By immersing myself into other culture, I will be able to gain a new perspective about the world around me which will help me grow as an individual. This experience will push me outside of my comfort zone causing me to adopt new skill sets that I will be able to use different situations such as when I go to college.
Why You Should Give
Being able to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity, I will be introduced to a different perspective allowing me to compare the political, social, and economic differences between Italy and the United States. I will become more self-aware about the factors that shape our society and how it affects the way we interact with each other. Furthermore, this adventure will give me more insight into what the world has to offer.
