About

West Potomac High School Crew has been a part of the Fort Hunt/Mount Vernon community for the past 50 years (previously as Fort Hunt H.S. Crew). Our club is home to 100+ dedicated athletes, freshmen through seniors. Many of our athletes row through college and into adulthood. West Potomac Crew has two seasons: Winter Conditioning which is an intensive preparation program for all rowers and the Spring competitive season. This year, West Potomac Crew will be practicing out of Ft. Belvoir.

    Update from Leena Dechoretz

Dear Friends and Family, I hope this email finds you well! I'm reaching out to share an exciting opportunity to support a cause that means a lot to me— West Potomac Crew Team. As you may know, crew is a unique and challenging sport that requires not only dedication from the athletes but also significant financial support to sustain our team. Unlike many other sports, the crew team is not funded by the school, so we rely entirely on fundraising efforts to cover costs such as equipment, regatta fees, transportation, and coaching. This year, I’ve set a personal fundraising goal to help ensure the team has the resources we need to have a successful season. Your contribution—no matter the amount—will go directly toward keeping our program afloat (pun intended!). Every little bit helps, whether it’s $10, $25, or more. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this email with others who might be interested in supporting us would also mean the world. Thank you so much for considering supporting me and my teammates. Your encouragement and generosity make such a difference! Let’s row together toward an incredible season! With gratitude,
