About
MAC Rowing is the premier club rowing team for high school kids in the Los Angeles area, with over 130 team members representing more than 25 L.A. area high schools and a 20+ year history littered with regional and national medalists and an alumni list that includes NCAA and IRA champions, All-Americans and an Olympian. MAC emphasizes hard work and fun in a family environment that many of our athletes think of as their home away from home.
What I’m Raising Money For
This year we are seeking to raise money to pay for a new eight, a new four and a new pair, all boats that the kids will put to good use in practice and on the race course. Your donation will go to the Santa Monica Bay Junior Rowing Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit set up to handle MAC's gifted funds. All donations to this fund are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
Why You Should Give
Rowing is a teaching tool, a means by which we seek to instill in our athletes the strength of character necessary to be successful in any endeavor to which they might apply themselves outside the boat. The beneficiaries of your generosity will be the young men and women of this team, who cannot help but be marked by this tremendously powerful, transformative experience. Your contribution then, while given physical expression in the form of a graceful carbon fiber racing shell, will find its true manifestation in the hardened bodies, inspired spirits and sharpened minds of our athletes.
