About
The Berkeley High Mountain Bike Team was the first high school mountain bike team in the country and helped spur the growth of the NorCal League and eventually the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). We're celebrating our 21st season by supporting one of our largest teams ever - over 70 student athletes!
What I’m Raising Money For
We're raising money to help buy a new bike trailer so the team can continue to venture out to races and practice around the Bay Area, making mountain biking accessible to everyone.
All funds raised will go directly to supporting student-athletes with equipment and scholarships.
Why You Should Give

Hi everyone, The BHS Mountain Bike Team is a great organization that supports 70 plus riders. Mountain biking is a club at Berkeley High, not an official sport, so they don't receive any money from the school, and the coaches make little or no money. Our Fundraising Goals
Update from Will Kluger
I am excited to be back at practice with the Berkeley Mountain Biking Team! We are back on the trails and training hard for a successful 2019 season. I am writing because the Berkeley High Mountain Biking Team needs your support to continue to make mountain bike racing accessible to anyone who chooses to ride. We are raising $14,500 in order to ease the transport of our many bicycles. As a member of Berkeley High’s mountain biking team, I am part of a dedicated group of more than 80 student-athletes, who are working super hard to achieve athletic excellence. We put in long hours of training – improving our cycling skills, and pushing our strength and fitness to new levels. Our team is doing really well in 2019! With our second place finish at race 3, Berkeley high was able to overtake Salinas for second place overall in the competitive D1 team competition. Competition is extremely tight going into race 4 with us leading Salinas by ONLY 33 points out of over 12,000! We are entering our 21st season as a team. The team has doubled in size over the two previous seasons. We are now sitting at close to 80 riders! Berkeley High Mountain Biking Team needs YOUR support to continue to excel and ensure that our doors remain open to all students. Berkeley High was the first school to have a mountain biking team competing in the high school league, and we continue to lead the league in important ways. Mountain biking has long been a male dominated sport but with 20 women on the team, we are doing what we can to focus on diversity and inclusion. We receive zero funding from the school district and rely on contributions from our parents, friends and family to cover financial aid, and the costs of loaner bikes, travel and food expenses for the team at races, equipment and more. To help raise money for the team, I am asking you to make a donation. Mountain Bike Racing at Berkeley High is a huge part of my high school experience. I’ve formed close friendships and learned how to set and achieve goals I never thought possible – and it’s also really fun! Please help us continue to build strong minds, bodies, character, and community. Thanks for your support. Go Jackets!
